Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. The Service unit is responsible for the worldwide after sales support of generator circuit-breaker (GCB) systems and gas insulated switchgears (GIS), including training, installation and commissioning, scheduled maintenance, added value services, troubleshooting, extensions, retrofits and replacements.

For our location in Zürich-Oerlikon we are looking for a Control- and Monitoring Systems Specialist (m/f/d). Thanks to your highly systematic and analytical approach, together with your organizational skills, you will deliver high-end technical solutions and documentation, thereby contributing to successful projects for our internal and external customers.

In this role you will take responsibility for the realization of technical solutions and also contribute to the development of new products for the Service product portfolio. With interfaces to sales, project management, troubleshooting team, production as well as external customers, you will work in a dynamic environment with new challenges every day.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop control system concepts for local control cabinets and monitoring systems, manage the subsequent manufacturing documentation, select suitable vendors and ensure that the final product meets all requirements

  • Manage the replacements for obsolete components used within existing control systems

  • Support sales and operations departments in the preparation of offers and execution of customer projects

  • Support supply chain management in the evaluation of vendors for materials and services

  • Identify cost reduction potentials and standardize / optimize our products and services of the existing Service product portfolio

  • Identify and implement improvements for internal processes as part of Hitachi Energy’s continuous improvement process

  • Provide assistance to field service engineers and customers in relation to issues with control and monitoring systems

  • Support the training group by providing training for monitoring systems for field service engineers and customers

Your background

  • Electrical engineering education

  • 2-3 years working experience in a similar role

  • Independent thinking to proactively challenge existing solutions and develop new approaches and solutions

  • Happy to work in an interdisciplinary setup and coordinating interfaces

  • Analytical, systematic work methodology, independent, committed and cost-conscious

  • Very good knowledge of English and German
