IT / Tech Legal Counsel (w/m/d)
Within the team of Legal & Information Security, which includes Legal, Compliance, Data Protection, Risk management and Information Security, you will primarily oversee legal aspects related to our business contracts, compliance, and legal risk management, contributing directly to our strategic and operational goals. Secondary, you will support the general activities within Legal & InfoSec team.
This is a unique position as you will drive the development of our team, using both a management and hands-on approach within legal, compliance and risk areas.
Your mission
You will collaborate across all levels of the organization, working with executives, management, technical experts, service departement and external parties such as external counsel, global customers and suppliers. This role requires someone who can
balance strategic legal advice with a hands-on approach to problem-solving, oIering both personal and career growth.
Key responsibilities
- Legal Risk Management: Oversee and manage legal risks associated with network security and Cyber Security, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Contract Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to managed services within IT security and third-party vendors, ensuring the company’s interests are protected.
- Regulatory Compliance: Provide expert advice on GDPR, data privacy, and other regulatory matters impacting the network security and cyber security industry.
- Legal Support: Act as the go-to legal advisor for various internal teams, oIering guidance on policies, various legal topics (such as Open Source, intellectual property etc.), and compliance programs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our General Counsel and the InfoSec Team and other departments to ensure all legal and compliance frameworks are up-to-date and in line with industry standards.
- Trainings: Organisation and implementation of employee training on various Legal and Compliance topics.
Your profile
Required:
- Law degree (lic. iur. / Master of Law) and preferably admission to practice law in Switzerland.
- 3+ years of experience in a legal counsel role, ideally within the IT or network security industry.
- Strong knowledge of IT and contract law, data protection laws (e.g., GDPR) and security regulations.
- Experience drafting and negotiating contracts related to technology and security.
- Passionate for the IT industry, and able to connect the dots between law, business and technology.
- A flair and ability to communicate about legal and compliance topics efectively with our internal stakeholders and customers.
- Collaborative, proactive and open.
- Negotiating skills and assertiveness.
- Precise, structured and reliable way of working.
- Service-orientated and precise even under high pressure.
- Fluent in Business English and German
Desired:
Living permanently in Switzerland, having Swiss citizenship or a Swiss residency permit C.
