Role Summary:
A high performing individual contributor who acts as a mentor to more junior engineers, applies new engineering principles to improve existing systems, and is responsible for leading complex, well-defined projects.
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer capable of driving operational excellence and project onboarding efforts. In this role, you will join Expedia Group's Reliability Engineering team supporting global applications and services for use by our travelers and partners, and supporting the processes and environments to manage and deliver them.

As a Software development engineer III in SRE domain, you will be driving the thought leadership in this space to build a first-class approach to enable success of the Reliability Engineering Organization. You would be an important part of a growing team using the latest technology to improve our reliability, and Disaster Recovery landscape, empowering millions of travelers to enjoy their perfect trip.
What You'll Do:
- Implement and support monitoring strategies and monitoring to ensure the health, availability, capacity, and performance standards.
- Monitor and proactively identify system errors & opportunities to improve customer and agent experience.
- Identify problems impacting services’ availability, find solution, solutionize it, productionize it, own it, evangelize it and make everyone use it.
- Share domain and industry knowledge between cross-functional teams.
- Facilitate collaboration with different stakeholders with varied perspectives to develop effective solutions on Disaster Recovery Processes.
- Build reporting capabilities to showcase operational health and quality
- Provide technical support, identification, troubleshooting, and resolution to issues and impacts.
- Drive a culture of root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Operationally support applications and services across multiple environments.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science with 6+ years; or Equivalent related professional experience
- In-depth knowledge of Reliability Concepts on SLO/SLI/Error Budgets etc.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Expert in AWS, EKS, with in-depth knowledge of Infrastructure setup & multi-region environment
- Understanding of Disaster Recovery Processes and methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of various monitoring tools like Splunk, Datadog, Catchpoint.
