AES’s Senior Automation Engineer will be an integral part of planning, executing, and testing the functionality of automated production processes (e.g. recipe, EM, CM configuration and sequencing) with DeltaV. The Senior Automation Engineer will participate in I/O troubleshooting and configuration of DeltaV as well as understand DeltaV infrastructure. This role will support the standardization and optimization of the automation production process and is jointly responsible for knowledge transfer and effective decision making within the team. This role acts as liaison for technical oversight on assigned projects between client and/or site personnel to ensure project success. This role will communicate with all affected parties to meet milestones and/or production timelines. This role is expected to anticipate and escalate scope deviations as soon as possible in order to course correct and pivot when necessary to meet client expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Validation and implementation of changes related to the assigned projects.
- Drive development and implementation of automated processes, equipment, and inspection systems.
- Design, develop, and optimize automation processes to make them ready for use in a production environment.
- Work with project managers or independently to establish project plans to ensure deliverables are completed to internal customers’ expectations using appropriate project management tools.
- Implement and integrate external systems to improve existing automated equipment.
- Investigates the root cause of equipment failures or quality issues and develops a go-forward approach.
- Implements process improvements by applying various engineering applications such as; robotics, automation, and simulation.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Skills:
- Automation design experience.
- Good Automation Manufacturing Practice (GAMP) experience.
- Control system experience (DeltaV).
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, conflict resolution and interpersonal communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service focus.
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Strong drive to maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies
Qualifications/experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 6+ years total Automation experience with 5+ years of DeltaV experience.
Travel:
- Must be willing to relocate to project locations as required to meet the project needs.
