The Position

The Materials Management Organization is a cornerstone of the Production Site Kaiseraugst including the management of production/packaging planning, local procurement, materials planning and master data. As a Detailed Scheduler for finished goods, you will be part of Kaiseraugst’s Planning Community reporting directly to a Planning Community Lead.

The Opportunity

In the role of Detailed Scheduler, you are responsible for the packaging plan of the products packed within the site’s assets. Your role is to resolve all conflicts related to assets or products that arise within your responsible planning horizon.

In this role, you will coordinate with global and site functions to solve short-term conflicts to promptly address potential backlog/stockout situations and to optimize the usage of our site resources.

Your main accountabilities include:

  • Maintain and own an accurate packaging schedule in close collaboration with global and local functions
  • Drive optimization by proactively balancing demand priorities against optimal production and efficient resource utilization (i.e. equipment, staff, materials, etc.) within the scheduling horizon
  • Revise and maintain detailed planning and scheduling parameters (i.e. calendars, productivity, utilization, fixed hoärizon etc.) in the planning system to allow optimal use of system-detailed scheduling functionalities
  • Proactively communicate and resolve conflicts related to equipment capacity, staff capacity, materials requirements, etc
  • Supports problem-solving process through impact and production capacity analysis and event scenarios and oversees its execution
  • Participate in project management teams and continuous improvement initiatives

Who you are

You have demonstrated abilities to think through the process, considering upstream and downstream stakeholders and using the process effectively to achieve results. We are seeking a self-directed individual, focused on delivering results that add value to the business and it is not afraid of making mistakes or decision making.

  • You have excellent communication skills in English and German and the ability to effectively communicate and influence across all levels of the organization
  • You use improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean) to analyze and resolve problems focusing on the efficiency and simplification of processes
  • You take the initiative, embrace new opportunities, convey a sense of urgency and are not afraid to take over or lead new responsibilities and/or challenges
  • You are capable of prioritizing and managing multiple demands and commitments, understanding the “big picture”, anticipating operational issues, focusing on details when needed and recommending solutions
  • You are a person who is not afraid to challenge the status quo and you are willing to share your knowledge with leaders, teammates and cross-functional peers
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in a Supply Chain discipline, Business Administration or Business Informatics is a plus
