Your mission
The role of Technical Manager Nights involves covering the responsibilities of the Technical Director Show when they are not on shift. This includes ensuring the load in and load out schedules keep to plan, liaising with all departments, problem solving any issues during this period and ensuring a high level of work during maintenance and programming sessions to allow the smooth running of rehearsals & live shows in the pre-production phase (5 days: March + April 2025) and production phase (45 days: 7th April to 22 May 2025).
The role will have the following responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Represents and acts on behalf of the Technical Director Show on operational 'day to day' activities when they are not available/on shift and escalates significant issues as required
- Overseas the Load In and Load Out of the Arena during the night shift, including ensuring the work remains on schedule and identifying issues with scheduling and formulating solutions
- Overseas the maintenance & programming night shifts, to ensure works are completed satisfactorily and do not affect rehearsals during the day
- Coordinates with all the on shift Production departments, including lighting, video, sound, cameras, rigging, comms, site and SFX
- Taking reasonably practicable steps to ensure production work is carried out without risks to health or safety, including contributing to, and reviewing. the planning & safety paperwork as required
- Comply and respond to all SRG procedural, administration, and operational guidelines, and instructions
Your profile
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the live event sector, particular with similar responsibilities overseeing large groups of staff & suppliers
- Excellent conflict resolution for scheduling, space planning & logistical challenges.
- Great people skills and the ability to manage and direct a team
- CAD proficiency, particularly on taking measurements and understanding complicated plans a must
- Broad knowledge of the various production disciplines very useful
- Fluent in written & spoken English a must to ensure effective communication within a diverse, multinational production team. Fluency in German also beneficial
