Senior Data Engineer Description
Are you driven by a passion for advancing technology within the Insurance industry and dedicated to combating financial crime? If so, we are looking for someone just like you to join us in Zürich in a position, which requires a mix of remote and on-site work in a hybrid model.
We are currently looking for an experienced Data Engineer to strengthen our Insurance client in Zürich. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining data-driven applications, engineering robust data pipelines and contributing to all stages of the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain new and existing data-driven applications
- Develop and see through solutions End to End
- Engineer reliable data pipelines for sourcing, processing, distributing and storing data
- Design data models that can support ever growing volumes
- Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle
- Provide technical expertise, recommendations and innovative solutions
- Work collaboratively alongside the product owner and other technologists
- Share expertise and best practice with colleagues and contribute regularly to our engineering culture
Requirements
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other engineers and a product owner
- Strong core Python software engineering experience
- Good understanding and significant experience with projects using relational data models and SQL
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native technologies (Databricks, Azure DevOps, Delta Lake tables, Spark structured streaming, Lakehouse) in Microsoft Azure environment
- Experience with Apache Spark and Delta Lake tables
- Good analytical skills and the ability to understand complexity and break it down into smaller, achievable steps
- Fluent English skills are a must, German language skills are significant advantage
