Job mission
You will be working in a cross-functional team that aims to establish organoid culture automation with the goal to use them for high-throughput screening. Your role as automation specialist is to support the workflow and data automation of organoid culture and help in further developing the automated pipetting robot.
Your impact

Working in a dynamic and innovative environment,you will help to pioneer the automation of organoid culture

Specifically, you will work together with our biologists to translate the workflow of organoid culture to our existing liquid handling systems.

You will help to expand the existing automation platforms

Collaborate with biologists on the daily tasks and troubleshooting of the workflow on the automation platforms

Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure the readiness and sterility of the automation platforms

Document and report all relevant processes
Your profile

You are currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program or pursued your Master’s degree not longer than 12 months prior to the start date in life sciences or a related field

You have significant experience in programming and setting up laboratory automation technologies

You have experience working with Python and enjoy solving challenges systematically by using your analytical and technical skills

You are familiar with data processing/visualization softwares

You are highly technical and are excited by cutting edge technologies in the lab

Ideally, you have some experience with 2D/3D and BSL2 cell culture

You are passionate about collaborating in a cross-functional team in a multicultural environment

You have a good command of spoken and written English
Start: Ideally as soon as possible or upon your availability for a period of 6-12 months. Please indicate your ideal starting date on your application.

The internship (100%) will be located in the Roche Pharma Research Center in Basel.
