Principal Product Manager
Expedia Group’s platform and marketplace team services millions of travelers across the globe every year. We are on the mission to power travel for Everyone. Everywhere. We power thousands of travel businesses with a best-in-travel set of eCommerce capabilities that deliver a seamless booking experience to travelers, no matter where they are or where they are traveling to.
We are looking for a Principal of Product, ordering systems to help us build a best-in-class Order Management Platform that will serve Expedia’s pre and post booking for internal as well for external partners. As a product leader you will define and deliver the roadmap of the existing Services, as well as conceptualize and launch new features and services according to traveler and platform customer needs.
The product leader should understand platform and have worked with stakeholders and have managed multiple workflows and worked with different line of businesses.
One should be comfortable data, measuring impact and thinking out of the box.
A successful candidate will have a strong passion for travel, solving hard problems and experience in designing products in a platform setting. You have a background in software development or product management, specific to software platforms and ecosystems. You must be highly analytical, able to work effectively across multiple organizations, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high quality, simple products and applications that developers and customers love.
What you’ll do:

Lead a diverse team of product managers with a deep understanding of Orders Platform and services. Build systems to grow talent while developing successors for your own position

Continuously formulate and communicate the strategic vision for your products and the value they create for travelers, partners, and Expedia Group. Lead executive-level (incl. C-level) presentations while driving a customer & product-led approach

Build and manage a backlog, applying a consistent prioritization framework, defining a roadmap with targeted delivery increments, and driving communications throughout the product lifecycle. Drive roadmap alignment across Expedia Group

Define key product requirements throughout the consumer & travel business journey. Partner with external partners to define key product requirements for the platform. Partner closely with engineering teams to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of products and features

Establish and measure product performance through close partnership with analytics teams. Build a test and learn approach to generate maximum return on investment for products and enhancements
Who you are:
-
10+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology
-
Master’s in business administration or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
-
Passion for recruiting, developing, and leading a diverse team of innovative product professionals. Serve in a ‘player coach’ role as a technical product leader by running, reviewing, and conducting the day-to-day work in the checkout domain

Experience creating platform products and features from conceptualizing to launch

Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs, managing roadmaps across multiple stakeholders

Experience with end-to-end product delivery, overseeing roadmap strategy and definition, contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product, coordinating complex product development cycles and software development schedules

Experience with two sided platforms and development tools

Ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment, with attention to detail and organizational skills

Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously and ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is required

Ability to think big and execute methodically

History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done

Analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases

Proven track-record of taking ownership and driving results
