- Read and understand specification sheet for each study
- Complete screening worksheets
- Request staff
- Obtain screening requisitions from clinical laboratory
- Order labels and label all screening samples
- Order screening supplies and prepare supplies as needed
- Prepare auditorium for screening events
- Take vital signs and record using Auto Inclusion/Exclusion or source data
- Take height/weight and record using Auto Inclusion/Exclusion or source data
- Perform phlebotomy
- Collect urine specimens
- Deliver all screening samples to the clinical lab
- Clean auditorium after screening events
- Perform Electrocardiograms (ECGs) and other special screening procedures (Pulmonary Function Tests, etc.)
- Train clinical new hires on the screening process
- Attend study initiation meetings and/or dry run meetings
- Attend team meetings and assist in problem resolution
- Scheduling Staff
- Train, monitor, and provide assistance to the manager for the screening team
- Act as liaison between screening and other departments
- Review and update progress of screening staff
- Assist admissions staff (medical history packet review and entry, check-in and check-out participants at
- screening etc.) and may perform other limited admissions duties
- Review and revise training plans and SOPs
- May be responsible for staff management in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; development and coaching of employees.
- Perform and oversee procedures necessary to screen study participants during pre-study events relating to the enrollment of participants into studies. Act as team leader to the screening staff
- Requires active EMT, LPN or RN license in practicing state
- Associate's degree in a related field preferred
- Experience in a medical or clinical setting preferred
- Phlebotomy experience
- Previous Screening Conduct Experience
**Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
