Job Description
Role Objective:
-
This position will contribute to develop and implement effective marketing & sales plans to meet agreed company’s short-term and long-term business goal
- This position is responsible to provide the direction and the management of the sales team in the Country to achieve Sales Targets
- This position is responsible is to direct, lead and motivate the marketing team to ensure the highest levels of professional marketing management and the development of existing and new brands to achieve short to long-term marketing strategic goals and financial business objectives and to contribute to the development of strategy and the operational management of the company
- This position will have the acumen to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long-term strategic planning with the urgency of immediate demands
- This position will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, to develop and drive strategies and tactics, providing direction for the company
Role Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the overall Oncology sales & marketing activities in line with Takeda Values
- Assume overall responsibility for developing the annual and mid to long-term marketing plan for the organization
- Responsible for management of KOLs and Key customers
Strategic Planning
- Develop differentiated Marketing Strategy
- Lead the development and implementation of a marketing strategy in line with overall company’s strategic goals and financial priorities.
- Identify, plan and exploit new product, brand or trade opportunities to develop the business in line with marketing strategic direction
- Identify, develop and implement high value strategies for product life cycle development and expansion across the Takeda’s product portfolio
- Oversee additional contribution and provide input as needed into the development of Brand Plans
- To co-develop, cross functionally, with marketing function the key market trends and projected sales plan that directs the Sales forces towards achievement of company sales objectives.
- To translate key financial plan drivers into specific, measurable and executable action plans for sales management and field sales representatives in order to deliver product growth in physician and hospital markets
- To manage and monitor Sales Budget and to develop guidelines for field sales budget conformance
- To formulate sales strategy, develop sales forecast, budget and manpower plans. To design and implement of sales force structure, alignments and expansions and to routinely review organizational structure compared to industry norms, evaluating workload potential, performance potential and performance against sales plan forecast
People Management
- Accountable for effective leadership, management, coaching and counselling of the Sales team and be responsible for training needs analysis and personal development of direct reports and for the formulation of the training and development plans for sales roles overall
- Determine headcount requirements for the Oncology BU, and lead the identification, assessment, and selection of suitable candidates for positions within the department
- Collaborate with own team members to set and achieve appropriate KPIs
- Support people development by ensuring all team members have an Individual Development Plan (IDP), career development opportunities, dedicated time for personal career development, as well as succession plans for key commercial roles
Corporate Governance
- Oversee and ensure compliance of all responsible activities to relevant laws and regulations as well as internal standards and SOPs
- Ensure patients have access to life saving products whilst strictly complying with Takeda SOP’s and code of conduct
- Enhance the company reputation and profile through an external focus, by representing the company on cross-company boards
External Stakeholder Management
- Responsible for representing Takeda by providing an expert voice with external stakeholders as needed
- Establish ongoing relationship with key opinion leaders (KOLs), government officials, healthcare organizations and ensure that significant developments in the field are identified and monitored
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Ensure that the relationships between Oncology BU and other departments are managed optimally
- Collaborate with company senior management, updating them on a regular basis on developments of Oncology BU and progress made in sales & marketing plans
- Enable and support a positive team environment both within the team and with cross-functional stakeholders including medical, regulatory and finance team
Patient-Centricity
- Provide professional expertise in the review of adverse events locally and contribute to global pharmacovigilance activities
- Ensure patient safety is prioritized and that adequate QA and PV systems are installed and implemented

Education, Behavioral Competencies and Skills:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
Required Experience
- Over 15 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in both sales & marketing
- At least 5 years of experience in people management
Preferred Experience
- High reputation in industry with established network within the commercial field that will attract high-caliber professionals into the organization
- In depth experience of commercial field with quality achievements in life cycle management of sales & marketing strategies
- Business Development experience from commercial perspective

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; fluency in other languages is a plus
- Excellent presentation skills
- IT savvy and process orientated
- Good knowledge of healthcare systems
- A high level of knowledge of regulatory environment including key regulatory agencies and approval processes relevant to the country

Travel Requirements for the role:
- Occasional requirement to travel (by driving or flight) to various meeting sites
