What you can expect
At Baloise, we are undergoing a data transformation in our Asset Management division. Our aim is to become a data-driven organization, which includes building a robust Cloud Data Platform, improving data processes, and fostering better collaboration across teams.
As part of our Business Intelligence team, your primary focus will be on designing, building, and maintaining high-quality data products such as a Data Warehouse, ELT pipelines, and Data Marts. While your expertise will center on data engineering, you will also be contributing to analytics by ensuring the right data is accessible for decision-making.

Your Responsibilities
- Design and Develop Data Products: Build and manage a Data Warehouse and ELT pipelines on Microsoft Azure, ensuring they perform reliably and efficiently.
- Integrate and Ensure Data Quality: Consolidate data from various systems, ensuring it’s clean, structured, and easily accessible for stakeholders.
- Support Analytics and Reporting: Develop Data Marts to support business users in accessing structured data for insights and reporting in areas such as portfolio management, ESG, and real estate.
- Collaborate with Business Teams: Work closely with business units to understand their data needs and deliver data solutions that align with both business objectives and technical capabilities.
- Maintain Operational Excellence: Ensure the ongoing performance, reliability, and scalability of the data products you build, supporting long-term business goals.

What we expect
You have in-depth experience in data engineering and have successfully developed and maintained reliable data products. You also have a good understanding of analytics, which helps you to develop data-driven solutions that meet business needs and support data-based decision-making. You have excellent teamwork and communication skills and can work effectively with both technical and business teams.
Your structured approach to problem solving enables you to deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision. In addition, you are open to change and willing to actively contribute to the ongoing transformation process within the organisation.
Your Professional Qualification
- A degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with training or experience in data management and Data Warehousing.
- At least 5 years of experience in Data Warehouse design and implementation, with a focus on data engineering.
- Advanced SQL skills, and familiarity with DBT and Data Vault methodologies.
- Experience with Azure Cloud Platform and services such as Data Factory, Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric is beneficial.
- Familiarity with financial industry systems and data models
- Proficiency in German and English (written and spoken).
