This position is located within our Target and Disease Biology Group within the Oncology Discovery organization dedicated to the discovery and development of novel cancer therapeutics within key tumor types (CRC, Lung, Breast). We collaborate closely with functions in Therapeutic Modalities, Pharmaceutical Science as well as within the oncology therapeutic area to translate hypotheses into innovative Therapeutics. This team also interfaces with the newly established Institute for Human Biology (IHB).
The Opportunity
As a Research Associate Discovery Oncology Target & Disease Group, you will address fundamental scientific questions, be responsible for the design and execution of experimental work, and conduct data analysis.

Proficient in tissue culture and molecular and cell biology/ immunology methods including RNAi, qRT-PCR, stable cell line generation, genetic editing, proliferation / cell viability assays, western blotting, ELISA, multiplex assays and analyses and imaging methods including Incucyte.

Experienced in Isolation, culture and maintenance of primary immune cells.

Expertise in multicolor flow cytometry and in a range of cell based and functional in vitro assays .

Experienced in cell specific proteomic labelling.

Able to coordinate and manage multiple orthogonal studies and enthusiastically share knowledge through collaboration with other scientists and associates inside and outside the group.

Present findings at internal meetings and maintain accurate electronic records.

Enjoy working flexibly and embrace change.

Manage interns and/or apprentices.
Who you are
BSc/MSc in a life science discipline or completed Roche apprenticeship, at least 2 years of experience in a biomedical research laboratory (prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry desired), routinely conducted cell culture and proficient in a wide range of molecular biological and cellular methods, desired within the disease areas of focus (CRC, Lung, Breast). Prior experience with cell specific labelling approaches , 3D culture systems, Genetic editing and flow cytometry (desired). Experience in Mode of Action analysis or functional screening of drug candidates or target assessment compound screening.

Strong interest in testing novel target hypotheses and establishing new assays to further enhance our disease biology understanding (desired). Passion to explore novel technologies /continue to build state-of-the-art tools (desired).

Proficient with standard lab equipment and IT tools and capable of conducting and documenting original research independently. Familiar with Bioinformatic tools ( preferred ). With more in depth experience and capabilities, qualify for increased responsibilities and higher seniority level.
