The International Academy of Ceramics (IAC) is looking for a bilingual Project Coordinator to work on a diverse range of editorial, digital and administrative projects.
Reports to: Director of the IAC
Type of contract: Permanent (CDI), 40% (16 hours/week)
Location: Ariana Museum, Geneva, Switzerland
Start Date: January 15th, 2025, or by agreement
Key responsibilities:
As Project Coordinator you will support the Director and the Administration & Communications Coordinator and perform the following tasks in accordance with management directives:
- Bulletin: Drafting and compiling the content of the twice-yearly IAC Bulletin.
- UNESCO projects: Liaising with the IAC representative to UNESCO and handling the administrative workload of these projects.
- Publications: Coordinating the compilation of material and the distribution/sale of IAC publications. Fundraising: Coordinating ad hoc IAC fundraising projects (e.g. setting up online platforms for sales of ceramic pieces).
- Archives: Digitizing the IAC’s archives (letters, catalogues, photographs etc.).
- Variety of ad hoc tasks to assist the rest of the IAC Secretariat team: e.g. translation, proofreading, generation of statistics, meeting attendance, website and database updates, setting up election and competition platforms, social media content etc.
Profile
Education and Experience:
- Higher education diploma/degree or equivalent training in a relevant field (e.g. administration, communications, marketing, journalism)
- At least 3 years’ relevant work experience
- Experience in the cultural and associative fields would be an asset
- Experience working with an international team would be an asset
Skills:
- Bilingual English French speaker (with high level of written English)
- Excellent communication skills - interpersonal, written and verbal
- Excellent organisational skills: proficient in coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail
- A team player who is also able to work independently and take initiative.
- Skilled user of WordPress; Microsoft Office; MailChimp; Mac computers
- Strong interest in the associative and ceramic or cultural fields
- Desirable: Skilled user of graphic design and multimedia communication tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) with ability to design layouts and edit audiovisual content.
- Desirable: Skilled user of social media platforms and tools (Instagram, Facebook, Hootsuite, WeChat, etc.)
Location:
The candidate should be eligible to work in Switzerland and be based either in Geneva or in close proximity (neighbouring areas in France included). Work hours may be split between the IAC Secretariat at the Ariana Museum in Geneva and remote work.
Languages:
Please note: The IAC will only consider candidates who are bilingual or native speakers of French/English with advanced command of the other language.
Knowledge of other languages is an asset, especially Spanish and Chinese.
