Since 2016 MSC Cruises is steadily present in Malta with one of its most strategically important office.
For our office in Malta we are looking for one Business Data Analyst who will be developing new analysis tools and procedures to deliver the highest standards of descriptive analysis and data insights about financial and business information . The salary package comprises a competitive salary of 35K - according to experience, health Insurance and access to MSC Employees Family & Friends with discounts on cruises and much morel This Is an office-based position, no duty on-board/travelling will be required.
•
Analyzes and solves finance and business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context;
• Manages and executes entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations;
• Works with finance and Business stakeholders to identify ways to streamline and automate daily tasks to improve business effectiveness and efficiency as well as makes recommendations for corrections and prevention of errors or omissions;
• Develops cutting edge visualizations including dashboards to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and to support the full scope of data visualizations from visual discovery to idea generation;
• Mentors other team members on how to analyze, interpret and visualize data;
• Liaises with IT department to ensure full integration with BI and data warehouse environment;
• Collaborates in Financial Reporting automation projects including workflow Management Implementation.
• Fluent in English, oral and written;
• Advanced degree with background in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field;
• 3-5 years of experience performing equivalent or similar functions at a large, complex organization;
• Advanced Excel Skills: import datasets, run analyses and display results using charts and graphs;
• Advanced Data Visualization Skills with Qlick View and Qlick Sense;
• Modeling Tools: POWER-BI/PIVOT, SQL, PYTHON
• Basic knowledge of Bayesian Learning and Probabilistic Models; Machine Learning for Algorithms for Predictive Analytics and advanced natural language generation for reporting;
• Knowledge of basic functioning of ERP systems (Navison) and CPM (Tagetik), is an advantage;
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of financial reporting and accounting fundamentals is a strong plus.
• Demonstrated experience performing exploratory and quantitative analysis;
• Experience in translating complex problems and solutions to all levels of an organization;
• Strong Business Intelligence experience;
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to reach an independent conclusion;
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of financial reporting and accounting fundamentals is a strong plus.
