Chenot Palace Weggis is the new Health Wellness Retreat in Switzerland and also the flagship of the globally active Chenot Group. Qualifications & Competences
- Bachelor Degree or postgraduate diploma in the area of nutrition, food science and dietetics
- 3 years of experience as clinical dietician
- English Language — speaking, understanding, reading, writing at advanced level, any other language is an advantage
- Ability to use computer software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point
- Be proficient in the use of highly complex dietary analysis software
- Ability to use nutritional tools such as calorimeters, bioelectric impedance machines, skinfold calipers
- Minimum of satisfactory completion of clinical placements as student dietitian during training
- Experience of working in the area of health promotion and chronic disease management
- Experience of multidisciplinary working
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Understanding of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests
- Understanding of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, and coordination of people and resources
- Understanding of the role of teamwork in providing quality services
- Experience in maintaining patients records at an acceptable standard for audit purposes
Tasks & Challenges
- Undertake dietetic assessments of referred client taking into account medical, social, cultural and psychological factors (client's profile)
- Calculate nutritional requirements of the client based on the interpretation of heredity, anthropometry, biochemistry, clinical condition and other physical parameters
- Determine, prescribe and plan the appropriate dietetic treatment to assist in the promotion of health and control of disease
- Provide nutrition and dietary advice based on current evidence and appropriate to the client's profile
- Counsel clients on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life. Communicate this complex and sensitive information in an understandable form to clients
- Consult with medical doctors to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of clients and make recommendations regarding the adaptation of medication that may interfere with nutrient or drug absorption
- Monitor client's condition and progress during the period of stay and revaluate diet as necessary. Report back to the referring medical doctor
- Keep accurate written records of the clinical interventions, the advise given and the outcome decisions taken
- Develop and prepare manuals, visual aids, course outlines and other materials used in teaching
- Plan and conduct training courses in dietetics and nutrition and organize cooking courses with the assistance of the hotel chef and catering staff
- Plan and conduct guest conferences on nutrition
- Assist our guests and help service team with your knowledge during lunch in the hotel restaurant
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality
- Maintain professional development and an up to date knowledge in seeking to improve the quality of services provided to the clients
- Keep up to date with the nutritional developments in the food industry and science
- Provide dietetic advice to the multidisciplinary teams of the spa through attendance and participation in meetings
- Practice clinical excellence by carrying out evidence based practice and the development of standards, policies and guidelines within this area of work
