Job Summary:
The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for improving the reliability, availability, and maintainability of the hot rolling process. This role involves analyzing equipment performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance the overall efficiency and safety of the production process.
Responsibilities:
Conduct reliability assessments and root cause analysis of equipment failures in the hot rolling process.
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to identify and resolve reliability issues.
Analyze data from various sources to identify trends and recommend improvements.
Develop and maintain reliability metrics and KPIs to track performance and progress.
Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing process reliability.
Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations personnel.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations and standards.
Prepare and present reports on reliability performance and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably in the aluminum or metals industry.
Strong knowledge of hot rolling processes and equipment.
Proficiency in reliability analysis tools and techniques (e.g., FMEA, RCA, RCM).
Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to the aluminum industry.
Professional certification in reliability engineering (e.g., CRE, CMRP) preferred
Experience with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing methodologies preferred
Familiarity with condition monitoring technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography) preferred
