Process Engineer: Microtech Fabrication of Photonics Devices (100%)

Infos sur l'emploi

Versics AG builds innovative photonic tech that impacts how humankind communicates. By joining us, you will no longer dream about the future of telecommunications—you will redefine it.

Our company, founded in 2022, is a deep-tech spin-off from ETH Zurich. It is a vertical integrator of optical communication devices, meaning that we manufacture our products from design to microfabrication, assembly, and testing until the shipping process.

We are already working with telecom market leaders to improve how we exchange data on Earth and in Space - would you miss this opportunity?

The opportunity:

- Work with state-of-the-art cleanroom machinery (lithography, etching, deposition, characterization, back-end processing, etc) and operate them yourself

- Lead the fabrication of the low-power integrated optic devices, which operate beyond 110 GHz of bandwidth

- Streamline the current fabrication flows and implement leaner approaches

- Optimize wafer-scale processes to produce our products at scale

- Establish new cleanroom processes in alignment with the R&D and product needs

- Maximize device yield by having constant communication with the production team

Your profile:

- Motivation to work in a cleanroom environment

- Persistence and quality define you

- Willing to work in a purpose-driven team

- Eager to learn new hard and soft skills

- Knowledge in material science and chemistry, particularly applied to cleanroom processes

- Experience in cleanroom processes (lithographies, etching, depositions, lift-offs, cleaning, bonding, etc)

- Experience in electronic and/or photonic devices is a plus

- Education as M.Sc or PhD with cleanroom work and results is a plus

- Hands-on in cleanroom equipment (running the equipment by yourself and, when needed, trouble-shooting errors)

- Hands-on in developing your own recipes (optimizing steps with several parameters, assessing priorities to final quality, etc)

- Hands-on in creating fabrication flows from scratch (following state-of-the-art processes and combining them with in-house capabilities and know-how)

- Good management and reporting practice in your work

Your benefits:

- Key member of a dynamic team, where you will gain responsibility within the company

- Creating a real impact on telecommunications with the latest tech

- Collaborating with world-renowned experts in photonic devices

- A workplace in Zurich (2nd city with a higher quality of life worldwide) and with links to ETH Zurich (8th top University in the world in 2024)

Application deadline: August 1, 2024 (included)

- Documents: Attach your CV (max. 1 page) and motivational letter (max. 1 page) when applying

- Interviews in calendar weeks 34 and 35

- Starting time: October 2024 or earlier
