Electron Microscopy Team
The Electron Microscopy market team is a cross-functional team responsible for the development of the electron microscopy market. The team takes care of strategic decisions to interact with end customers, partners and OEM customers or to develop and market the right product within the right timeframe. Thus, they are the interface between internal product development and the external market view. They ensure that novel products are delivered to the production value stream and that the market strategy is aligned with DECTRIS' business strategy. The team provides input to the technology roadmap with the goal of developing the required technology for future EM detectors. They verify that the products cover the desired applications and/or even enable new applications.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities
Scientific Expertise
- Collaborate with early adopter researchers in the life sciences, understanding their research goals and challenges related to 4D STEM applications
- Design and execute experiments using advanced electron microscopy techniques to achieve optimal results for researchers' specific projects
- Troubleshoot technical challenges and provide expert advice to ensure researchers maximize the potential of 4D STEM in their workflows
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in life science research and 4D STEM methodologies
- Develop compelling marketing materials (e.g., application notes, case studies, blog posts) highlighting the successful use of DECTRIS detectors in scientific research
- Present findings and applications at scientific conferences and industry events
- Contribute to creating educational resources (webinars, tutorials) to promote the adoption of 4D STEM in the life sciences community
Your Skills and Experience
- Ph.D. in Life Sciences (e.g., Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Structural Biology) or a closely related field
- Minimum 3 years of research experience using electron microscopy techniques
- Strong understanding of 4D STEM principles and their potential applications in life sciences, experience with 4D STEM technologies is an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience developing and presenting scientific content (e.g., research papers, presentations)
- Proficiency in data analysis and scientific software tools (Python, SerialEM, Relion, CryoSPARC)
- An international work environment formed by more than 170 experienced engineers, scientists and other professionals. The company languages are German and English
