Location: This position is located is our Siemens Smart Infrastructure headquarters inZug, Switzerland.
The Role
As Portfolio Launch Excellence Team Lead, you will lead a team of portfolio launch managers and take the overall responsibility for overseeing the successful global rollout of new portfolio elements for SI Buildings across all segments (building automation, fire, security etc.) while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
In this role, you are responsible for the team driving market entry efforts for our products, service and software business with a focus on the release process as well as launch strategies aimed at accelerating product introductions, enabling sales, and providing critical feedback for continuous improvement. This role also involves ensuring clear communication and support to sales regions, monitoring regional performance, addressing challenges, and refining processes to ensure the success of each portfolio launch. In addition you will drive harmonization efforts across various tech units and departments to ensure a cohesive and efficient approach to launches by having aligned launch timelines, standardized communication methods, and transparency towards the countries. This will require cross-functional work with a large number of stakeholders across countries, tech units and other functions within the SI Buildings organization.
You will report to the Global Head of Operations and Enablement within the marketing function of Smart Infrastructure Buildings and lead the global Launch Excellence team, based in Zug, Switzerland.
Your new responsibilities
- Lead Global Portfolio Rollouts: Direct the team in preparing for all aspects of global portfolio rollouts, ensuring readiness across marketing, sales, training, implementation, and support in all countries. You will ensure cross-functional collaboration to meet launch timelines and goals.
- Develop and Implement Portfolio Launch Concepts: Lead the team in creating and refining portfolio launch strategies, ensuring the development of clear, executable plans that accelerate and maximize the success of new portfolio introductions.
- Ensure Timely Delivery and Communication: Lead efforts to maintain open lines of communication with regional teams, ensuring country readiness. You will set up regular status updates, facilitate knowledge sharing, and remove communication barriers.
- Proactively Gather and Address Feedback: Create a feedback loop with regional teams, encouraging the team to gather and address input from all stakeholders. You will focus on removing roadblocks and applying learnings to continuously improve the introduction process and maximize impact.
- Team Leadership and Development: Beyond portfolio rollouts, you will prioritize the development of team members through coaching, regular feedback, and performance evaluations. You will work to create an environment that promotes collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Resource Management and Allocation: Ensure the team has the necessary resources and support to meet project demands. You will actively monitor workload distribution, adjusting as needed to maintain productivity.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate strong relationships with other departments such as Tech Units, Functional Units and Marketing, ensuring your team has the input and support needed to deliver on portfolio objectives.
Your talents and experience
- Bachelor or Master's Degree in Engineering, International Business or a comparable qualification with a solid commercial experience
- 8+ years of experience in a similar role
- Experience within the Building Automation and/or Fire industry is preferred; experience with Siemens products would be very helpful and gives you an edge
- Strong stakeholder management & people management skills; ability to effectively work with and influence global cross-functional teams of diverse stakeholders & cultures in a matrixed organization
- Team lead experience with strong communication & interpersonal skills
- Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups; results oriented mindset, takes initiative with high degree of self-motivation
- Strong program / project management skills; process oriented with an attention to details, strong analytical skills
- Ability to work in complex, fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines
- A strong customer orientation sets you apart from others
- Strategic and out-of-the-box thinking, in order to brainstorm and adopt new concepts quickly
- Fluent in English and able to explain complex topics in an engageable way. Fluent German is a plus. Additional languages are welcome
