Arts at CERN is the arts programme of CERN, created to foster the dialogue between arts and physics. Artists across all creative disciplines are invited to experience the way the big questions about our universe are pursued by fundamental science. Our goals are to inspire significant exchanges between artists and physicists, and to participate in an international cultural community eager to connect with CERN.

Arts at CERN is part the Arts and Public Events Curation (APC) section in the Education, Communications and Outreach (ECO) group of the International Relations (IR) sector.

We have a 12-month origin graduate position for the role of an Arts at CERN Junior Officer. Tasks and Responsibilities include:

• Assist the Arts at CERN team with the organisation of the annual programme of residencies, special guests, exhibitions, and events at Arts at CERN;
• Provide substantive administrative and coordination support to the curator and head of Arts at CERN;
• Communicate and engage with the science community, scientists, engineers, and all staff at CERN, in order to participate in Arts at CERN programmes;
• Contribute to the organisation of the programmes of Arts at CERN;
• Contribute to the administrative tasks of Arts at CERN;
• Making travels and booking accommodation when necessary;
• Ensuring the continued smooth operations: welcoming visitors, scheduling visits, and providing information by answering questions and requests via email or phone calls;
• Support on the preparation of documents, presentation materials, and facilities for meetings.

• Ready to learn fast and gain skills that can be applied to the job;
• A team player, ready to work with others, gaining trust and collaboration, as well as able to work autonomously when required;
• Demonstrating flexibility, adapting quickly and resourcefully to shifting priorities and requirements;
• Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

• You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
• By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in STEM, social sciences and general administrative fields  and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
• Applicants without a university degree are not eligible.
• Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
