Cloud Engineer Networking (80-100% - all genders)
Your main tasks are
You actively contribute to the SwitchCloud in making it the best research cloud in Switzerland.
You identify, analyse, and solve problems, working with your team to further develop our solutions. Additionally, you coordinate adjustments and initiatives to ensure a seamless change management process.
You participate in 2nd/3rd level support and iteratively improve the products based on direct customer feedback.
Your focus is on the networking part of our SwitchCloud and supporting it with design changes.
You manage the infrastructure, operate, and automate it, identifying trends and reacting before they become problems.
What you bring
A university degree in computer science or comparable qualifications.
Operations support and as a bonus, expertise in Site Reliability Engineering.
The ability to work independently, take ownership, and collaborate effectively with the team.
Good communication in English is a must. German (preferred), French or Italian is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in optimising software-defined or physical networks and the challenge of configuring switches or firewalls.
Experience with OVN and the OpenStack networking projects.
Ansible and other automation tools are part of your Swiss Army Knife.
Understanding of the balance between the benefits of automation and the effort it requires.
Familiarity with monitoring and SLOs.
Good programming skills in Python or another SRE language.
Knowledge of Linux, Git (Gitlab), Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, and general SRE practices.
