Database Application Engineer

Our client, a leading Swiss energy company focused on renewable and hydroelectric power, is looking for a detail-oriented Application Engineer to join their international team. In this role, you will work with business users to understand application needs, refine systems through prototyping and testing, and manage the full lifecycle from analysis to support. You will help optimize key IT processes that support trading operations and ensure smooth data flow within the company. Simply put: Analyze - Plan - Implement - Maintain & Support Applications, but in more detail:

• Collaborate with business users to understand application needs and identify improvement opportunities.
• Assess and implement necessary adjustments to enhance system performance.
• Customize the system with tailored solutions and prototypes.
• Test thoroughly and iterate designs based on user feedback for optimal functionality.
• There’s no requirement for coding or software development in this role!

• fluent English
• Knowledge of Oracle or other database combined with proficiency in Python
• you have completed an engineering degree or IT degree
• European or Schengen Area citizenship required
• You are orderly, goal oriented and eager to learn
• You are communicative and able to engage effectively with others
