MSC Cruises, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Observability Specialist to join our dynamic and international team in Naples. As an IT Observability Specialist, your primary objective is to enhance the organization's IT infrastructure by implementing and managing observability solutions. You will ensure real-time visibility, proactive monitoring, and rapid incident response across all IT systems. The job purpose encompasses designing and implementing observability frameworks, optimizing performance monitoring, and contributing to IT operations' overall resilience and efficiency.
•Design, implement, integrate, and maintain observability frameworks to monitor IT systems' performance, health, and reliability.
•Establish and optimize proactive monitoring mechanisms, ensuring the detection of anomalies and potential incidents. Maintain and enhance performance monitoring tools for real-time visibility into system behaviour, effectively identifying bottlenecks and potential issues.
•Work closely with incident response teams and IT teams to provide timely insights and contribute to swift incident resolution.
•Analyze observability data to derive insights into system performance, user experience, and areas for improvement. Generate actionable reports and recommendations, leveraging data analysis to propel continuous improvement efforts.
•Collaborate seamlessly with IT operations, development, and security teams to establish a comprehensive observability approach. Offer expertise and support in implementing observability best practices organization wide.
•3 to 5 years of proven experience in IT observability or related roles.
•Master's degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent.
•Proven experience in implementing and managing observability solutions such as Dynatrace Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, and Splunk.
•Experience in designing and implementing custom observability solutions and scripts tailored to specific organizational needs.
•Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java) for customizing observability solutions.
•Relevant certifications in observability tools and technologies.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Fluent in English, oral and written (any other language is an advantage) with excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey observability insights and recommendations to cross-functional teams.
