Key Account Manager Advanced Industries

For a successor planning, we are looking for a full-time Sales Engineer for our international representatives attached to the VAT Headquarters. He/she is co-responsible for VAT’s market success, sales and growth in the RoW countries but also in CH. The Sales Engineer will need to be pro-active, highly motivated and have the ability to successfully execute sales strategies. The position is located in the Switzerland (HQ) and reports directly to the Head of Sales for Advanced Industries in Europe.

YOUR CHALLENGES

  • Sales responsibility with focus on worldwide R&D Centres and for Key Accounts in the assigned sales areas
  • Sales-oriented support for our Representatives and acquisition of new customers
  • Share of wallet increase with existing accounts
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel at strategic customer accounts
  • Collaborate with the VAT Business Units to close agreements with large customers
  • Technical and commercial development of highly customized solutions and offers
  • Preparation of offers, ensuring further offer tracking and closing
  • Monitoring the market for future sales opportunities, populating the sales pipeline in order to meet VAT growth targets
  • Monitoring of the market in relation to competitors as well as technical and commercial trends
  • Planning and implementation of regular meetings and product trainings for our trading partners
  • Participation in regular sales meetings and assistance in determining the short and medium-term sales planning
  • Price negotiations and conclusion of agreements with our key customers
  • Providing forecast numbers for your customer base and our trading partners
  • Complaint recording, forwarding to customer service and ensuring customer-oriented processing

YOUR COMPETENCIES

  • 5 years’ experience in sales, preferably in the vacuum industry or in related areas such as mechanical engineering, components or similar of the high-tech industry
  • Solid knowledge in the field of high-energy physics and particle physics is an advantage
  • High technical training in mechanical engineering or physics
  • High competence with Tenders, contract management and closings
  • Distinct customer and market orientation
  • Very high social competence, empathy and pleasure in working and communicating with customers and Representatives
  • Structured, process-oriented and independent way of working
  • High self-motivation, solution-oriented thinking, goal-oriented and success-driven
  • Ready to travel approx. 50%
  • Competent handling of MS Office products and ERP systems
  • Excellent English language skills in speaking and writing are necessary, further language skills an advantage
