The opportunity
High Voltage Products offering a wide range of high-voltage products up to 1,200-kilovolt (kV) for AC and 1,100-kilovolt for DC. We help to enhance the safety, reliability and efficiency of power networks while minimizing environmental impact with following primary offerings for switchgears, circuit-breakers, generator circuit breakers, power quality products, surge arresters, disconnectors, instrument transformers and high-voltage service.
As a Procurement Engineering Specialist, you will support multiple R&D projects related to SCM topics. You will work closely with our R&D Interrupter Project Manager to ensure components are of the right quality, delivered on time, and at an acceptable market price. You will align with the Global Product Group SCM strategy and collaborate with our Feeder Factory in Asia (Vietnam and India) as well as our Global BU and Hub Category Managers.
How you’ll make an impact

Act as lead procurement engineer for multiple project teams developing new interrupters and circuit breakers

Ensure availability of parts for prototype circuit breakers, including supplier selection, technical evaluation, design reviews, and timely delivery according to the project schedule

Support project teams by managing SCM-related Project Gate Review deliverables, ensuring material availability, maintaining project material costing, and completing part qualification activities

Collaborate with Global and Regional Category Managers to develop supplier selection strategies for new projects

Manage supply risk by ensuring multiple sourcing of critical materials during product development

Collaborate with factory SCM organizations to leverage qualified supplier base for material requirements in new projects
Your background
-
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering

7-10 years' experience in Supply Chain Management and/or Suppler Quality Engineers

Experience in Switchgear or Electrical Transmission industry is a big plus

Experience in New Product Development and use of product development tools such as APQP and PPAP

Experience with continuous improvement methodology like Lean Six Sigma and 8D

Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple time-sensitive tasks in a dynamic environment

Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with internal team and suppliers

Good written and verbal communication skills and fluent in German and English
