How can you make a difference?
- UNICEF Overview Dashboard: An overview of UNICEF’s resource mobilization trends, with a focus on private sector fundraising as well as global advocacy priorities with National Committees.
- NatCom and JSP Monitoring Dashboard: Offers a snapshot of each National Committee’s profile, including key data for monitoring the Joint Strategic Plans (JSP) of individual Committee.
- Country Office Profile Dashboard: Allows users to filter UNICEF country offices by various typology criteria, including PSFR and non-PSFR office categories.
- Grants Management Dashboard: Provides PFP and National Committees with a dashboard reflecting key insights into OR Grants data, facilitating informed decision-making.
Deliverables:
- Workplan for dashboard maintenance and development by5 February 2025.
- In collaboration with the National Committee Relationship Team, develop a workplan for development of the dashboards as well as an updated matrix of data needs.
- 1st tier priority of dashboard maintenance and update needs identified and implemented including update and quality review from March RER data by 30 April 2025.
- Collect, prioritize and implement changes to the following dashboards:
- UNICEF Overview Dashboard
- NatCom and JSP Monitoring Dashboard
- Country Office Profile Dashboard
- Grants Management Dashboard
- 2nd tier priority dashboard maintenance and update needs identified and implemented by30 June 2025.
- Collect, prioritize and implement changes to the following dashboards:
- UNICEF Overview Dashboard
- NatCom and JSP Monitoring Dashboard
- Country Office Profile Dashboard
- Grants Management Dashboard
- Final Dashboard priority dashboard maintenance and update needs identified and implemented by30 September 2025.
- Finalize all updates to the following dashboards for publication:
- UNICEF Overview Dashboard
- NatCom and JSP Monitoring Dashboard
- Country Office Profile Dashboard Grants Management Dashboard
- Dashboard rollout and training by14 October 2025.
- Work with the team to finalize training workshop for relevant colleagues on how to maintain dashboards in the long term.
- Develop detailed documentation on Power BI data sources, APIs to help maintain data in the long term.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- An advanced university degree (master’s or higher) in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analysis and Data Visualization or related field is required. Alternatively, a first University Degree (bachelor’s degree) in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional in data modelling and data science including designing and customizing data visualizations in Power BI is required.
- Knowledge and understanding of storytelling using data visualization tools and techniques is required.
- Knowledge, understanding and experience with UN/ UNICEF’s data architecture and data visualization requirements is required.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Business Intelligence (BI) subject areas, products & tools are required.
- Knowledge of use cases of various business intelligence solutions to facilitate decision making is an asset.
- Knowledge of integration of multiple data sources, databases, enterprise applications and Web services using Power BI is mandatory.
- Strong Expertise in data visualization and design using PowerBI platforms to make data clear and understandable for a variety of audiences is required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact and speak with business stakeholders is required.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Remarks:
Please indicate in the application your all-inclusive (lump sum) fees in USD against the deliverables listed above, if there is a need for business travel, the travel costs will be covered by UNICEF separately. The office selects the individual based on best value for money.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract.
