Talent Programme for Commercial Managers / Directors
LOCATION: UK & Ireland.
Programme Overview
The Talent Programme is designed to develop high-potential commercial managers and directors with a focus on cost category management, workplace design and fit-out, supply chain transformation, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives.
This 36-month programme includes three 12-month rotations, allowing participants to gain comprehensive on-the-job development across key areas. Participants will complete three out of the four available rotations, determined in collaboration throughout the programme. The programme caters to three levels of seniority: Manager, Senior Manager, and Director.
Key Components
- Training and Development: Emphasis on on-the-job training, complemented by targeted workshops and courses.
- Rotational Assignments: In-depth experience across cost category management, workplace design and fit-out, supply chain transformation, and ESG initiatives.
- Mentorship: Continuous support from experienced leaders to guide development and career progression.
- Strategic Projects: Real-world projects that provide opportunities to apply learning and drive business impact.
- Performance Measurement: Regular reviews and feedback to ensure participants are on track to meet their development goals.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Graduate with a degree from a top tier institution.
- Ideally trained in a consultancy or post-graduate corporate programme with a fast-paced organisation.
- Experience in a highly commercial role, working in a complex, multi-channel and international environment.
- Outstanding track record of success, you will have outperformed your peer group in not just academia but in extracurricular activities as well e.g. entrepreneurship, sports, music etc.
- Ability to successfully influence multiple stakeholders in a matrix environment.
- A strong, confident decision maker with a proactive approach.
- Prioritises well and can manage in a high-pressure environment whilst working to tight deadlines.
- Experience of working within a commercial environment at Management level.
- Excellent analytical skills with a passionate attitude.
- A strong desire to succeed.
- An innovative thinker with a proven ability to problem solve.
- A desire and passion to beat the competition.
- Ability to be hands-on as well as strategic and be a trouble-shooter when the business need deems it appropriate to do so.
Programme Structure
Onboarding (Month 1)
- Introduction to the Company
- Company history, mission, vision, and values.
- Overview of products, services, and market position.
- Role-Specific Orientation
- Detailed briefing on responsibilities and expectations.
- Introduction to key stakeholders and team members.
- Initial Assessment
- Skills and competency evaluation to identify strengths and development areas.
- Personal Development Plan (PDP) Creation
- Collaborate with mentors to create a tailored PDP based on assessment results.
Rotational Assignments (Months 2-36)
Participants will complete three 12-month rotations in the following areas, agreed upon throughout the programme:
Cost Category Management
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Analyse spend data to identify opportunities for savings.
Workplace Design and Fit-Out
- Design efficient and innovative workplace environments.
- Manage fit-out projects from conception to completion.
- Drive productisation of fit-out proposition for building owners
Supply Chain Transformation
- Optimise logistics and inventory management processes.
- Implement strategies to improve supply chain efficiency and resilience.
- Drive improvements to supply chain processes and tools
ESG Initiatives
- Integrate ESG principles into business operations.
- Lead projects that promote sustainability and social responsibility.
- Develop and implement ESG policies.
- Measure and report on ESG impact.
Special Assignments (Throughout the Programme)
- Engage in high-impact projects within each rotational area.
- Take on leadership roles in critical business initiatives and present findings to the executive team.
- Opportunities for international assignments or collaboration with global teams to broaden perspectives.
Ongoing Features
Mentorship and Coaching (Ongoing)
- Each participant is paired with a senior executive for guidance and support.
- Monthly meetings with mentors to review progress, address challenges, and adjust the PDP as needed.
Performance Reviews (Quarterly)
- Quarterly performance reviews with direct supervisors and mentors.
- Measure progress against KPIs specific to each rotational area.
Final Evaluation (Month 36)
- Final assessment of performance, skills acquired, and overall contribution.
- Formal recognition of programme completion with presentations to senior leadership.
- Discussions on career progression and potential executive positions within the company.
