Join Axpo’s dynamic Proprietary Power Desk team as a Senior Power Analyst. With over 8 years of experience in market analysis, you will bring your deep expertise in European power markets and advanced quantitative skills to develop and maintain power pricing models. This role offers the opportunity to support Axpo’s trading strategies and contribute to a leading energy company renowned for innovation and excellence.

What you will do:

• Develop and maintain European power pricing models to support trading activities.


• Provide short, medium, and long-term fundamental analysis for the CEMT Power Trading team.


• Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and identify trading opportunities.


• Ensure data integrity within Axpo’s database.


• Enhance existing power models through improved analysis of supply and demand.


• Collaborate with trading analysts across power, coal, gas, and oil markets.


• Potential to grow into a managerial role overseeing a team of 2 European power analysts.

What you bring & who you are:

• University degree in mathematics, physics, or engineering with strong quantitative training.


• 8+ years of experience in market analysis within the energy or financial services sector.


• Proficiency in fundamental analysis of European power markets and non-asset backed power trading.


• Exceptional numerical skills and high attention to detail.


• Strong coding skills (SQL, R, Python).


• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.


• Fluency in English; knowledge of Italian, German, and French is an advantage.


• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in volatile market conditions.


• A team player with several years of management experience is a plus.
