At Baxter Healthcare, we are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people around the world. As part of our analytical team, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Associate II - ICP-OES/MS to work in the laboratory on specific ICP-OES/MS techniques.
What you'll do :
In this role, you will lead ICP-OES/MS projects associated with materials science activities across Baxter's product lifecycle. Your role will span from exploratory studies to new product development, sustaining products on market, and quality controls!
Your responsibilities will include leading water extraction vehicle-based extractable study design and execution on closure container systems and devices, in accordance with pharmacopoeia and ISO requirements.
In addition, you will hold ownership of non-PVC raw materials quality control polymer testing from SAPA, Thetford, and MH facilities. As a teammate, you will work with colleagues, collaborate with other functions. You'll provide training to newcomers as needed, ensuring flawless flow of activities in polymer pharmacopoeia compendial studies involving PVC and non-PVC raw materials.
You will participate in R&D project meetings and translate product development needs into protocoled studies addressing materials safety, processibility, and functionality. You will also deliver and enforce to R&D projects timelines through teamwork and leading execution.
You'll continuously improve processes in place by applying scientific thinking and demonstrating quality systems in Baxter and maintain laboratory reagents, materials, and equipment in good operating order.
Finally you ensure lab operations align with general and specific environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines.
What you'll bring :
- PhD in the specific field with 2 years of experience in ICP OES/MS or master degree with 5 years of working experience in ICP OES/MS.
- Proven record in analytical skills and problem solving as evidenced by peer reviewed publications or patents in previous work
- Experienced in polymer analysis in using ICP OES/MS on extracts samples and mineralized samples
- Good knowledge in pharma and medical regulatory requirements including EP, USP, ISO and ICH guidelines
- Comfortable to switch gear between GMP activities and R&D/Exploratory/Investigational as well as innovation activities in the lab adopting the right tool set and mind set required.
- Excellent communication with colleagues in problem statement, project management and updating outcome to the management
- Autonomous, critical thinking, hands on, drive progress and lead by best example.
