Countries and corporations have pledged to achieve net-zero, significantly reduce GHG emissions, developing resilient businesses and address further sustainability challenges. In addition, sustainability offers an opportunity to create long-term value for stakeholders, which will ultimately present new business opportunities. With EY Sustainability, we offer a holistic end-to-end service that addresses all aspects of sustainability-related business challenges. We support organizations in creating long-term value by developing sustainability and decarbonization strategies, enhancing performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and identifying new business opportunities.
Your key responsibilities
As a team member of EY Sustainability in Switzerland, you will support national and international clients on their way to new sustainable business opportunities and increased sustainability performance - with passion, flexibility, and a strong appetite for change. As part of the consulting practice, the focus lies on sustainable business transformation, which includes supporting clients with the following:
- Develop sustainability strategies and support in roll-out and implementation including governance, processes, technology and more
- Ensure compliance by staying ahead of regulatory market developments (CSRD/ESRS, EU Taxonomy, Swiss Regulations etc.) and integrate new requirements into the organization and its existing business processes
- Developing target operating models that serve sustainability aspirations and achievements of goals
- Determine corporate and product carbon/nature footprints and develop decarbonization strategies, implementation and transition plans (GHG Protocol, SBTi, ESRS, TNFD etc.)
Additionally, you will support EY teams in their go-to-market activities (incl. events, thought leadership, project proposals) and develop own activities.
Skills and attributes for success

2-4 years of professional experience in reporting, consulting, or a comparable position, all related to sustainability topics.

Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, business economics, , environmental economics, sustainability or similar field

In-depth understanding of climate change and nature impact and mitigation strategies, as well as sustainability regulatory landscape (from disclosure to due diligence)

Strong technical skills, ability to analyze data by using different tools (e.g. Microsoft365, PowerBI, Alteryx, AI etc.)

Proficiency in conveying complex information to clients in an easily understandable manner through PowerPoint presentations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English, French is a plus

The position is available immediately and can be based in Zurich / Basel; travel might be required occasionally
