Accounting Clerk
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Accounting Clerk who thrives in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of the Finance team, you'll be responsible for performing a variety of complex and confidential administrative duties. Your ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and resolve issues will ensure that you contribute effectively to our team’s success. Clear and professional communication with all contacts is a must, as is keeping the team updated on ongoing projects and tasks.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Deliver professional and friendly service at all times, ensuring guest satisfaction
- Manage billing for Weddings/Groups: Timely and accurate invoicing, following established processes
- Advanced deposits management: Maintain records of deposits, applying or refunding as necessary
- Accounts Receivable: Apply payments to the ledger, ensuring proper coding for the general ledger and completing daily shift closings
- Guest inquiry resolution: Address and resolve guest inquiries promptly while maintaining high hotel standards
- Collaboration with the accounting team: Assist with activities like accounts payable, cost control, cash management, and credit/client billing as required
- Month-end procedures: Complete necessary closeout procedures for the month-end process
- Adhere to policies and standards: Follow department procedures and safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with all hotel standards
- Additional duties as required: Be flexible and adaptable, performing other tasks as assigned
Your Experience and Skills Include:
- Previous office or accounting experience is required, with a background in accounting or front office being an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests
- Proficiency with computer software: Competency in using various applications to perform daily tasks
- Fluency in English: Strong written, verbal, and comprehension skills; additional languages are an asset
- Ability to perform under pressure: Handle multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Discretion with confidential information: Ability to manage sensitive data with care
- Customer-focused approach: Maintain professionalism and courtesy, especially in challenging situations
- Attention to detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Team-oriented: While working independently is essential, you should also be able to collaborate seamlessly with your team
- Professional communication skills: Present and communicate clearly, articulating ideas effectively
- Highly responsible and reliable: A dependable team member who can be trusted with critical responsibilities
Physical Aspects of the Position (include but are not limited to):
- Frequent sitting throughout the shift
- Typing speed: Ability to type at least 50 words per minute
- Manual dexterity: Ability to handle routine administrative tasks efficiently
