Assist, when relevant, in transfer of technologies into product development. Participates, when necessary, on product development core or project teams.

Responsibilities:

Independently plans and performs experiments that support new product or technology feasibility testing. Develops new methodologies or conducts routine procedures as needed.

Critically analyzes data generated from experiments. Synthesizes resulting evaluations of product and technology feasibility, as well as ideas and concepts and records them in an R&D Notebook.

Reports results of experiments to R&D management and peers. Advises of the product development implications arising from the results and when necessary prepares technical reports.

Supports the PAS intellectual property strategy by documenting data and independent, unique and patentable ideas that result from experimentations and concept generation.

Serves as primary technical expert regarding laboratory instrumentation, including but not limited to, robotic workstations, automated analysis instrumentation, and general laboratory equipment.

Maintains scientific equipment as necessary to support scientific and technical objectives as well as regulatory and governance requirements.

Maintains good laboratory practices (GLP) consistent with PAS product development objectives and regulatory guidelines.

Interfaces with Manufacturing to execute manufacturing work orders to support experimental designs and performs testing of product produced experimentally as required.

Utilizes DFSS methodology in the development of new products.

Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelors degree, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Knowledge of the operation of mechanical measurement equipment (e.g. Instron) desirable. Operation of diagnostic instrumentation desirable.

Superior communication skills, both written and oral.

Knowledge of computer programs.

Knowledge of statistical analysis desirable.

Able to lift 50 pounds.
