Presentation
A post-doctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Christiane Nawrath at the Department of Plant Molecular Biology (DBMV) of the University of Lausanne. The research projects are aimed at characterizing genes and mechanisms involved in plant cuticle and suberin lamellae formation.
The successful candidate will generate and/or characterize mutants and transgenic plants affected in cuticle and suberin lamellae formation in Arabidopsis using RNA-seq, confocal fluorescence microscopy, atomic force microscopy, confocal RAMAN spectroscopy and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. Besides experience in plant molecular biology, experience with one or several of these technologies is desired.
This position is mostly research oriented. It is also associated with teaching duties of under graduate and graduate biology students.
