About the role
It is an exciting time to join our NZ business!
We are looking for a Medical Affairs professional to take ownership of the Medical strategy and activities with an initial focus on IBD and Neuroscience.
This is currently planned as a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Auckland. This hybrid (office and in-field based) role will report to the Medical Therapy Area Head in Sydney and closely collaborate with the New Zealand Commercial team to achieve our goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Design a strategic medical plan for NZ, leveraging your clinical insights and expertise.
- Tactical Medical Affairs Execution: Lead and execute on key medical activities such KOL engagement planning, Advisory Boards, peer to peer meetings and publications
- Clinical Environment: Map and establish KOL and healthcare networks and relationships and report on clinical insights
- Compliance: Advocate for medical standards, maintain ethical standards, and ensure alignment of promotional activities.
- Collaboration: Contribute medical expertise within the NZ team to inform their decision making and planning
- Travel: Some overnight travel, including weekends is required.
What we’re seeking:
- Experience: At least 5 years in a Medical Affairs role and knowledge of the NZ medicines landscape.
- Collaborative Spirit: Thrive in a hybrid, matrix organization, building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Learning Agility: Adapt to rapidly changing environments and continuously develop new knowledge in evolving therapeutic areas.
- Authentic Leadership: Influence and facilitate complex scientific discussions to drive consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic Toolset: Employ a structured approach to project management, priorizitation, and proactive problem-solving.
- Qualifications: Doctorate-level or equivalent qualifications in Science, Pharmacy, Medicine, or Healthcare.
