PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Global Supply Chain Planning and Purchasing Specialist is responsible for ordering merchandise from supplier and replenishing the Distribution Center to ensure goods are ready to fulfill operational needs for the assigned category. This role involves balancing demand and supply, as well as meeting business targets for he assigned vendor group. This role is part of the Supply Chain Team, driving continuous process improvements within the area of responsibility. This position reports to the Global Supply Chain Planning and Purchasing Manager and is based in Basel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business
Deliver stock and availability targets for the assigned category, ensuring a balance between cost and service
Manage purchase orders, adhering to logistics optimization KPIs and supplier agreements
Ensure orders are complete, accurate, and compliant with Best Before Dates (BBD) and internal/external SLAs
Follow up on purchase orders and manage discrepancies in the ERP system
Coordinate with the warehouse for returns and destructions
Maintain the integrity of replenishment parameters for a smooth product flow
Address supply chain misalignments with internal and external partners to resolve issues such as over-delivery and missing documentation
Analyze purchase orders, propose and implement actions, and flag inconsistencies to the Manager of Planning and Purchasing
Prepare weekly reports summarizing department KPIs for the line manager
Planning System Management
Manage input parameters related to demand
Maintain logistics parameters including lead times and safety stock
Review sales forecasts for new items and apply data at the item level in the planning system
Vendor Analysis and Reporting
Provide input for meetings with vendors based on performance analysis
Coordinate with master data and procurement to ensure the correctness of SAP vendors and entities
Distribution Center Inventory Management
Manage DC Inventory levels at the item level for brands in scope, ensuring quality (ABC mix)
Monitor inventory levels against the budget
Ensure the availability of items
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management or related field
Experience in Supply and Demand Planning and Forecasting and working with International Suppliers
Analytical Mindset and close attention to detail
Organizational and negotiations skills
Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP Systems
