ROLE DESCRIPTION
• As a Nautical Analyst, you will be part of the Nautical Department and working closely with other key leaders in the company. The overall objective of your work is to improve performance and sustainability of the Nautical fleet and crew. You will be involved in virtually all aspects of running the business. In addition, you will drive projects to maximize our operational effectiveness, reduce costs, increase revenue and improve our product.
• As part of your responsibilities you will provide executives with periodic reporting, key analytical and business insights, obtained through in-depth analysis to enable solid, fact-based business decisions. Moreover, you will also be responsible for supporting the implementation of these insights to transform the business. This role includes some traveling (10-20%).
• The Nautical Analyst will be based in our Operational Head Office in Basel, Switzerland. Please note that we can only accept applicants who are eligible to work in Switzerland or are in possession of a valid work permit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Increase operational effectiveness of Viking vessels: establishing key indicators, identifying information sources, gathering and interpreting data, digitalization and documentation of results, graphical representation of results (Control Room Project)
• Provide powerful facts and analyses that outline solutions and drive change in our business and products
• Collaborate with Directors and Corporate Captains in improving crew planning
• Develop and communicate comprehensive analysis to support strategic decision-making regarding salary and bonus structures
• Manage and publish periodic reports related to cost, revenue and operational metrics across Nautic
• Create and update presentations for the Executive management team in ongoing strategy development
• Manage and publish periodic reports related to quality, cost, sustainability, compliance, revenue and other relevant operational metrics across the business
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
• Excellent practical knowledge of Excel, Power Point and Power BI
• Project management experience is a plus
• Robust analytical skillset, self-learner, curious and critical thinker
• Ability to work independently, and prioritize allocation of time across multiple projects to meet deadlines
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills
• Must be well-organized and a self-starter
• Detail-oriented and reliable
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
EDUCATION
• Bachelor or Master’s degree, ideally in a scientific or a business field
