Internship Purpose

You will join the Innovation Lab – a part of research, development, and innovation (RDI) at Institut Straumann AG. Four the innovation theme, SMART DEVICES, we are evaluating problems that may be worth solving, market opportunities and technical feasibility of opportunities. We may create landscapes of patents and technologies that exist for an area of interest and start building a value proposition for a problem that we have identified. We are combining technical research with business analysis to promote or kill ideas in our innovation screening process.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• You will be involved in at least 2 dimensions of the opportunity evaluation (Desireabiliy, Viability, Feasibility)

• Helping to digest customer feedbacks from interviews and creating value propositions for the future dentist.

• Doing literature and patent research on areas of interest to create landscapes

• Being part of workshops to ideate on technical solution and/or technical evaluations of existing solutions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in Life Sciences, Engineering, preferably interdisciplinary. At least a finished Bachelor’s degree.

• Besides the technical background, we are looking for someone with a high interest for business opportunity analysis and an entrepreneurial mindset. An interest in sensor technologies for healthcare. Ideally with some experience with some tool in innovation management (e.g. Design thinking methodology, Business model canvas, IP-management, Interviewing, Market research etc.)

• Proactive individual with a structured work approach and the ability of achieving results pragmatically.

• Demonstrates a "Player-Learner" attitude: open communication, adaptable to change, solution-oriented, learns through practical experience, and welcomes feedback.

• Exhibits a high level of integrity, commitment, and ethical conduct.

• Proficient in written and verbal communication in English.
