Your Crew:
You will be part of Beyond Gravity’s Satellite Mechatronics System Engineering team, a diverse mix of young engineers and seasoned experts pushing our world-leading Solar Array Drive Mechanism, Antenna Pointer, Solar Array, and Space Robotic products. We use a hands-on and multi-disciplinary approach, collaborating with all major BGC specialist teams (Analysis, Design, Electrical, Materials & Processes, and Testing). This internship is a unique opportunity to be part of this, to take responsibility working directly on our core space products, and to learn new skills and to push yourself beyond expectations.
Your Mission:
- Research and Development: Conduct research to support ongoing projects and contribute to the development of new technologies or products, particularly in robotics.
- Testing and Evaluation: Participate in testing campaigns, including setting up experiments, collecting data, and evaluating results to ensure product performance and quality
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized documentation of engineering processes, designs, and test results
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to contribute to various aspects of projects
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to other team members, addressing challenges and problem-solving during the development process
- Problem-Solving: Engage in creative problem-solving, identifying and proposing solutions to engineering challenges encountered during projects
Your Story:
- Required: BSc or MSc in a job-related engineering discipline (robotics, mechatronics, aerospace)
- Required: Solid experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
- Required: Curiosity and ability to work independently, while maintaining good communication with the team
- Desired: Experience with Python/C++, and optimally with robotics/software-related items such as ROS, GITHUB, Linux, sensors, sensor fusion, and control
- Desired: Experience in student space projects (student CubeSat or rocket teams, student focus projects…)
- Desired: Hands-on experience in mechatronics & mechanics (metal work or 3D printing in workshops, model RC/car building, robotics projects, etc.)
- Desired: Experience with simple analysis & automation scripts (Python, Matlab, etc.)
