Our client is a globally operating company headquartered in the German-speaking region of Switzerland, specializing in developing and distributing measuring instruments and analytical devices used across various industries. Applications in life sciences and biopharma represent significant market segments. In connection with the expansion and development of the product portfolio in cell and biochemical analytics, and on behalf of our client, we are currently looking for a strategic-thinking and proactive individual for the following role:

Responsibilities

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Market Strategy and Roadmap: You will be responsible for the market strategy and roadmap of two product portfolios.
  • Business Advancement: You will drive the business forward based on agreed product roadmaps and budgets, including profit & loss responsibility.
  • Growth Potential and Business Opportunities: By analyzing relevant markets and competitors, you will identify growth potentials and business opportunities. You will ensure the product portfolio is well-differentiated and positioned to strengthen our clients' market leadership.
  • Action Plans: You will define yearly action plans (marketing campaigns, country growth programs, product development activities) including sales targets in cooperation with our market organizations and with support from market management.
  • R&D Project Sponsorship: You will act as a sponsor in R&D projects (new product or application developments, pre-studies) to enhance and develop new products and improve our existing products and services.
  • Marketing Strategy and Execution: Together with your team, you will drive the marketing strategy and its execution.
  • Team Leadership: You will lead a team of product managers, as well as a business development and marketing manager.
  • Management Team Participation: You will be a member of the management team for the analytical chemistry business unit.

 

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • You hold a BSc or MSc in Natural Sciences, preferably in Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • You have a solid understanding of the lab instruments market and have gained experience in the life science sector.
  • Experience in establishing new businesses and developing new markets is a strong plus.
  • You are fluent in English; proficiency in German is an advantage.
  • You are self-driven, proactive, and enjoy working independently.
  • As an empathetic and self-confident individual, you possess excellent communication, listening, and moderation skills.
  • Your strong business sense, excellent analytical skills, outstanding stakeholder management, and persuasive communication abilities complete your profile.
