We are currently looking for an experienced Data Re-processing Engineer to join our international team of young and inspiring engineers and industry professionals, tasked with driving innovation within the Space, Satellite and Earth Observation sector.

The Data Processing team is composed of very skilled and talented people that are dealing with the latest technologies (current and future state of the art) applicable for data processing systems in space activities. Job description:
What you'll be doing
· Analyse, define and maintain requirements and specifications in support to the development and maintenance of Data Processing SW products
· Contribute and follow-up the related developments/procurements and its integration/verification inside full scale Data Processing Systems and/or Ground Segments;
· Generation of a plan for Data Processing products covering its development, launching, maintenance and the transition from development to operations;
· Coordinating and communicating about product with management, teams, and stakeholders, including collection of feedback and its analysis. This will also cover the research on potential new Data Processing products and their applicability across new and existing missions;
· Support your managers and colleagues in proposing long-term plans and roadmaps to harmonise Data Processing Systems engineering, maintenance and evolutions across all satellite systems exploited by EUMETSAT.

Qualifications
· A university degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software or Systems Engineering or another relevant discipline.
Skills and Experience:
· Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering of Data Processing Systems or Products following well established processes, covering the full development lifecycle and using relevant technical standards (e.g. ECSS, CCSDS, OGC);
· Demonstrable knowledge of software development lifecycles and change control processes;
· Competence in the area of Data Processing Systems Verification &Validation (V&V) activities, including automated testing, software testing, unit test suite maintenance, software debugging and profiling;
· Ability to manage complex tasks with minimum supervision, including planning and prioritisation of activities, allocation and coordination of resources, monitoring and reporting;
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to apply these to a team environment while working within a matrix structure;
· Experience leading/coordinating engineering teams and in the management of industrial contracts in relevant area will be considered an advantage.
