360 Labs Initiative at a Glance
The 360 Labs are a new capability that is currently being built up within the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED ). The primary mission of this effort is to provide greater access and support for the use of cutting-edge biomedical research technologies by scientists across our discovery portfolio.
Operating as an integrated ecosystem, the 360 Lab environment will deliver core scientific technologies, expertise and enabling activities, as well as facilitate knowledge sharing and learning experiences in close collaboration with our therapeutic areas and functions. Together, these efforts will serve to increase the speed, enhance the robustness and improve the sustainability of our exploratory research and early discovery activities.
The Opportunity
The Proteomics & Metabolomics Core Technology Platform in the 360 Labs Initiative is seeking to add to its team an experienced, highly motivated, collaborative, and customer-centric lab-based scientific professional with a focus on ultra-sensitive LC-MS based proteomics technologies and their application to drug discovery. The successful candidate will have a robust background in the life sciences as well as proven technical and scientific proficiency in the development and optimization of ultra-sensitive proteomics approaches and their utilization to generate insight as a part of early drug development efforts. You will work with a sense of urgency as a part of a matrix team, interacting with experts from each of our therapeutic disease areas and functions to advance drug discovery projects, and will participate in the continued evolution of the Proteomics & Metabolomics Core Technology Platform within the pRED organization.
Your Role and Responsibilities

Be responsible for the planning, design and execution of ultra-sensitive proteomics workflows, with a focus on implementing and optimizing both routine, and custom low-input automated single pot sample preparation methods, followed by high-throughput lossless analysis using high-end mass spectrometry instrumentation;

Ensure the continued production, and reliability of high-quality FAIR research data by performing regular quality control and troubleshooting of LC-MS instrumentation, and maintain accountability for the timely generation of comprehensive project reports, and engage with stakeholders to present and discuss findings in a dynamic and flexible manner.

Embrace a continuous learning mindset by actively engaging with the scientific literature to stay abreast of emergent technologies/ approaches in the ultra-sensitive and single-cell proteomics fields.
Your Profile

You have a PhD degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or related field, with 3-5 years of postdoctoral and / or professional experience focused on ultra-sensitive proteomics technologies, either in an academic setting and / or the pharmaceutical industry / biotech R&D sector;;

You have exceptional competency in the handling and preparation of limited sample material for ultra-sensitive proteomics experiments, such as laser microdissected tissues, organoids, isolated cell populations, and scarce biofluids. Experience with spatial and / or single cell proteomics approaches is considered to be a plus;

You have extensive hands-on experience in implementing, optimizing and executing studies with highly sensitive mass spectrometers.
