Senior Java developer working in a small team that produces software tools to support enterprise risk system development, delivery and operations. There is a significant analysis & design component to this role. Finance industry experience is useful but not essential for this role. Good knowledge of Java language, development best practices and enterprise SDLC is vital.
Responsibilities:

Develop high-quality software tooling in Java 17
-
Good understanding of performance optimisation including data structures concurrency.

Able to design and implement modules independently based on high level requirements
-
Participate in code and design reviews at the team and department level
-
Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems

Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes

Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
-
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:

At least 5 years of relevant experience in software development

Requirements analysis, design and delivery of software in the context of a large enterprise

Familiar with standard tools and libraries e.g. git, Spring, IntelliJ, Maven/Gradle

Working knowledge of relational and noSQL databases

Experience working in global distributed teams

Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
