Scientific project manager in clinical research and cardiovascular prevention
The Clinical research and preventive cardiology unit is looking for a Scientific project manager to start in January 2025.
Contexte
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of five Swiss university hospitals. Through its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and the EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in the areas of medical care, medical research and training.
The mission of the Clinical research and preventive cardiology unit is to better understand the development of coronary disease, and investigate preventive strategies. We aim to build a new cohort of patients in primary prevention implementing wearable devices to evaluate lifestyle and the association with coronary atherosclerosis using novel method of imaging. The project is ambitious in term of novelty and scientific impact and integrates several working packages in collaboration with CHUV, HUG and EPFL.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious professional seeking a career in research, scientific and administrative management to join the Department of Cardiology. You will develop skills in coordinating national-level clinical and public health research in a leading academic institution and manage a broad portfolio of grants and working packages.
Mission
- You will be part of the Preventive Cardiology and Clinical Research Unit, a research group within the department of Cardiology at the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV)
- Primary mission will be to coordinate the initiation and development of a cohort of patients in primary prevention.
- You will be responsible for the the project management (including financial aspects) of several collaborative tasks with internal and external stakeholders and monitor carefully timelines and deliverables
- You will lead in monitoring spend in grant budgets, reporting on scientific progress to funders, and coordinating recruitment of staff and being proactive in identifying funding opportunities and preparing grant submission
- You will be responsible of preparing the protocol in collaboration with the investigator team and the submission of the scientific materials to the ethical committee
- You will bring your expertise in the scientific content of the project and potentially develop new area of research in the field.
Profil
- Master level qualifications or equivalent in epidemiology, clinical research, life sciences or medicine
- PhD level is an asset in the field of epidemiology, biostatistics or clinical research
- A previous experience in managing /coordinating complex clinical studies
- Knowledge in regulatory affairs
- High degree of motivation and creativity for new projects
- Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills
- Capacity to work collaboratively with other group members, as well as independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in English (French is a plus).
Depending on your profile, the salary class will be between level 9 and level 10.
