Job Description
About the role:
The IG Patient Advocate I is someone who has proficient experience with primary immunodeficiency (PI) and has familiarity with immunoglobulin (Ig) treatment. The Patient Advocate I provides unbranded, disease state education, and peer to peer support to people living with Primary Immunodeficiency enrolled in MyIgSource while being mindful of legal and regulatory constraints during every interaction. You will report to the Community Engagement and Recruitment Lead.
How you will contribute:

Patient Education, Peer to Peer Support & Community Outreach

Make outgoing and handles incoming calls via the toll-free MyIgSource phone line.

Provide unbranded disease state information, education, and resources about PI, unbranded IG treatment, plasma, self-advocacy, MyIgSource, and Takeda programs.

Enroll patients/caregivers in MyIgSource and obtains opt-in, providing a positive experience for all callers documenting all interactions appropriately.

Handle or triages incoming calls from HCPs as appropriate.

Travel to/attend approved local, regional, and national patient events, trade shows, attend relevant HCP events, share experience/speak at events to educate on PI, the need for peer-to-peer support, and the educational resources offered by Takeda.

Attend Unbranded PI Education Support Meetings using discretion in interactions to be mindful of legal and regulatory constraints.

Attend National walks, local education days to facilitate understanding of MyIgSource, and Ig Community Support at Takeda Internal PI Education

Participate in videos, brochures, photos, etc. sharing their experience as an advocate, personal experience with PI and MyIgSource to be shared internally and externally in multiple medias.

Provide feedback to senior leaders of IgCST on the patient, HCP, disease state, and emotional journey perspective when permissible

Educate internal audiences on PI patient experience and patient journey, MyIgSource, and all MyIgSource educational tools and resources.

Share personal story, complying with Takeda policies and SOPs and Legal, Regulatory, and Ethics & Compliance guidance.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s (strongly preferred)
-
3-5 years customer service/sales experience in a professional setting, or teaching experience (required if no degree)

Patient Advocacy, health care and/or experience in a regulated industry is preferred

Significant education or experience with primary immunodeficiency (PI) strongly preferred
-
Proficient communication, interpersonal, and English language oral skills are essential

Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device or other healthcare industries and relevant laws and regulations

Excellent decision-making ability and strong analytical skills
-
Ability to take initiative and ownership of assigned duties

Excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work

Basic computer and internet skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Ability to explain complicated subjects in an easy-to-understand manner

U.S. Base Salary Range:
67,900.00 - 106,700.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
