The Department of Physics at the University of Basel, Switzerland, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of an assistant professor in the area of theoretical quantum optics with a focus on the physics of light-matter interaction. The University of Basel conducts internationally recognized, leading research in quantum technologies and quantum optics, and is home of the Swiss Nanoscience Institute.
Your position
The new professor will be expected to conduct an excellent research program and contribute to teaching activities at all levels.
Your profile
We are looking for an outstanding theorist with proven expertise in the broad field of quantum optics and the physics of light-matter interactions. The requirements include a PhD degree in physics or equivalent and an excellent track record of research achievements and publications in the field. Synergies between the candidate’s research plans and the research activities conducted at the University of Basel in the areas of quantum optics and quantum technologies are advantageous.
