We are looking for as soon as possible for a Principal Software Engineer, as additional support for our outstanding Development Team in Zürich.
In this very interesting role, you will be able to actively shape our product and integrate your ideas and thereby contribute to the success of Luware.
Specifically, for a given feature, your responsibilities will include engaging with stakeholders/POs to gather requirements, documenting the design and undergoing team reviews, implementing the design, generating unit tests for your modifications, overseeing the deployment of the new feature, and incorporating additional monitoring and metrics as required for the feature. In essence, you will have complete ownership of your feature from its inception to completion. In a leadership capacity within our team, you will play a pivotal role in promoting best practices and providing guidance to junior engineers.
Work with the latest technologies, such as .Net Core, Docker, Azure, Kubernetes, AKS, CosmosDb, Redis, Raven DB (NoSQL) and TiDB.
Your responsibilities
- Design and develop large scale distributed software services and solutions.
- Adhere to and drive modern software engineering practices through design and code reviews.
- Develop “best-in-class” engineering for our services by ensuring that the services and the components are well-defined and modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored and reusable.
- System design through well-defined interfaces across multiple components, code reviews, leveraging data/telemetry to make decisions.
- Improve test coverage for services, organize and implement integration tests, and resolve problem areas.
- Consider testability, portability/monitoring, reliability, and maintainability, and understand when code is ready to be shared and delivered
- Gain a working understanding of Luware as a business and collaborate with mentors and leaders to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users
- Focus on customer/partner needs through a data driven approach
Your skills
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Engineering OR equivalent years of work experience
- 10+ years of software design and development experience with backend services
- Exposure to OpenAI / Copilot and other generative AI technologies
- 10+ years hands on experience in any Object-Oriented coding language such as C#, C++, Java or similar
- Ability to communicate technical details clearly across organizational boundaries
- Experience in DevOps to maintain live services andor application frameworks
- Cloud and services experience, with Azure cloud experience highly desirable
- Excellent analytical skills with systematic and structured approach to software design
- Passion for building highly scalable, highly reliable services
- Experience with or exposure to Agile and iterative development processes
