Job description
You will be working with a motivated interdiciplinary research team that is investigating if and how AI Tools can help make venture capitalist decision more effectic and fairer. In Prof. Dr. Elliot Ash's Law, Economics and Data Science research group at the ETH Zurich, we conduct cutting-edge empirical research at the intersection of economics and technology. Our research group is part of the Center for Law & Economics at ETH Zurich. In this role, you will contribute to:
- Developing and deploying advanced tools and frameworks for LLM-based applications.
- Support designing and running experiments on Qualtrics.
- Support applying rigorous statistical analysis to evaluate experimental outcomes.
This is a unique opportunity to work on pioneering research at the nexus of technology and economics.
Profile
We are seeking a motivated and talented student enrolled in a Swiss University to join our team as a Research Assistant on a project investigating the decision making behavior of venture capitalists using AI Tools. The ideal candidate would be able to commit to a 1-2 year part-time job and would have experience in:
- Front-end development using TypeScript.
- Back-end development with Python.
- Knowledge of venture capital concepts a plus.
- Building and working with Large Language Model (LLM) applications, including:
- Evaluations and benchmarking (e.g., OpenAI evals).
- Prompt engineering techniques.
- Leveraging vector databases.
- Innovative use cases like LLMs as judges or advisors.
- Experiment design and analysis, specifically:
- Running experiments using Qualtrics.
- Investigating results using statistical methods and tools.
Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in German is highly preferred as your field experiment subjects are based in Switzerland.
