Senior Product Industrialization Engineer (80-100%)

Your role and responsibilities

As part of the Motion Service team, you will work in our Center of Expertise setup for Medium Voltage Drive Services and taking over products from System Drives into our portfolio. Frome there you will develop, deploy and maintain new modernization solutions for our installed base to innovate and develop solutions that create value for our customers.

In this role you will analyze, modify, and create the modular design of equipment, systems or installations, including specifications and documentation for manufacturing, fabrication and installation. Additionally, you will adopt the solutions and generate products to support the target business solutions to serve the installed base of medium voltage converters.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Develop industrialization concepts based on product requirement specification in close collaboration with product management, cross functional product development and engineering, operations and shop floor manufacturing team
• Deliver solutions based on modular standardized designs with high priority on reusability of solutions as key deliverable of the product development projects
• Design the product solutions to meet target manufacturing and delivery concepts, including specific pre-manufacturing concepts
• Proven track record to identify the critical to quality aspects of an existing design and convert it into a more cost effective solution without compromising on quality
• Optimize designs to meet updated standards, incorporating new products, components, and functionalities that meet customer expectations while fulfilling project delivery needs
• Design review and verification following established quality assurance and control process, provide feedback on design aspects and introduce required modifications and improvements
• Complete risk and opportunity assessments and the implementation of resulting actions in one’s area of responsibility and report any quality / program / cost issues to management, along with recommendations, for resolution
• Collaborate with Electrical and mechanical engineering, system design, customers, sales, product and project management as well as product engineering to provide technical guidance on design related queries
• Define and implement testing concept to ensure highest manufacturing quality results
• In collaboration with the supply chain function, you will review vendor documentation, prepare RFQs, and provide design related evaluation of proposals for non-standard materials and equipment

• Strong background in mechanical design, industrialization engineering and NPI
• Several years of relevant experience in the field of industrialization, productization and mechanical engineering, product development or engineering and strong passion towards electrical design
• Serving several industrial segments, our products require knowledge about the applicable regulations and standards, namely relevant Machinery directives and ATEX
• Familiarity with State of the art CAD tool, SAP knowledge to manage parts and bill of material
• Knowledge of ABB products, ACS drives or experience in the field of medium voltage is preferred
• Proven experience and skills in project management
• A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills in English
