What makes this position special?
The Senior Category Buyer Technical Textiles is responsible for the regional spend and strategy of our glass, carbon and synthetic fibers and related textiles business unit. The aim of the role is to create a fit-for-purpose sourcing portfolio to enable the most reliable and cost-effective sourcing at a regional level.
Job description:
- Developing and following procurement strategies that are innovative and cost-effective for glass- carbon fibres, staple fibers, fabrics, fleeces and other related textiles for the EMEA region.
- Accountable for the effective sourcing and engagement of reliable vendors. That includes negotiating and contracting of price agreements with the main vendors.
- You will work closely with quality department, Operations, Sales and R&D to align on the regional product and supplier strategy.
- You will ensure compliance with procurement processes in the EMEA region while driving innovative approaches to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of transactional activities.
- You will coordinate collaboration between the category team and the broader EMEA and global sourcing organization, including the Centre of Excellence.
- You will conduct market analysis based on the business unit's product management specifications and feedback from the production sites.
Required profile:
- A basic commercial or technical education, or an academic degree in a related field (e.g. supply chain management, textile engineering or chemistry)
- Professional experience in procurement in an international environment, preferably in the composite, automotive or similar industry
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, spend analysis tools, e-sourcing platforms, experience in project management and presentations
- Experience in leading negotiation meetings / contract negotiations
- You are a customer and solution-oriented personality with very good communication skills in English and local language
- A willingness to travel approx. 10 % within EMEA
